NORWALK, CT November 2, 2006 – Make room for the 2007 International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York – the event that caters to the specific needs of the metro New York foodservice industry.  Over 18,000 industry professionals are expected to demo, touch, taste, smell, compare and source all the latest products and services required to run a successful foodservice business.  The 14th annual International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York will be held March 4-6, 2007 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.  
 
“If foodservice is your business, then this is THE show to attend,” said Ron Mathews, Event Director for Reed Exhibitions, producers of the Show. “We have added several new features to the 2007 event, from barista competitions to the US pizza team trials to a Japanese Demonstration Theater; we will have something for everyone.”
 
·         The Ultimate Barista Challenge™ hosted by Whole Cup Coffee Consulting. Professional barista will face challengers on the exhibition floor where they prepare their signature espresso beverages for a panel of discerning judges. There will be a showdown of three flights of espresso frappe, espresso cocktails and beautiful café latte art.
 
·        Nation’s Restaurant News New Product Gallery -- Be the first to discover the hottest new foods and beverages to hit the market in the gallery.  Attendees will cast their votes from over 100 new products for the “People's Choice Awards.”
 

  • Japanese Demonstration Theater: A new feature on the Show floor that will offer presentations of new cooking styles, techniques, trends, new products and celebrity chef appearances, sponsored by the Japan External Trade Organization.

 

  • The 18th Annual U.S. Pastry Competition: Rainforest is the theme as the nation's leading pastry professionals compete for the coveted title, "Pastry Chef of the Year." Pastry chefs display their talent and skills by creating advanced level desserts and highly technical chocolate and sugar sculpted showpieces. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Sunday, March 4 at 4:00 pm.

 

  • PMQ’s New York Pizza Show – co-located with the International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York:  This premier showcase for pizza-related products and services will host the annual U.S. Pizza Team Trials competition where dough spinning pizza acrobats compete for a spot on the U.S. Pizza Team.

 
·        Partake in new and exciting educational opportunities.  The prestigious Barfly Group offers several new seminars for those interested in restaurant operations and the New York State Restaurant Association will host several conference sessions addressing important and timely topics.
 
·        The Wine Cellar: Dozens of wineries and wine-related accessories to explore will be open on Sunday, March 4 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.  Discounted admission for Show attendees and exhibitors.
 

  • New York Farm Fresh Pavilion: This featured area on the Show floor highlights New York farm-fresh products and award-winning wines. Sample dozens of agricultural products from across the State that can add intrigue to your menu and positively affect your bottom line.
